Recently I’ve been told we’re not allowed to open our tills for anything but sales, meaning we can’t break twenties or hundreds anymore without the customer buying something, thank god. One customer came up to me and handed me a twenty to break and I refused; he went to my manager on the next register and she did it for him, resulting in a smug look and a, “See, baby, it doesn’t matter!!” REALLY.
