ask every single game dev if they will include a character in a wheelchair in their game, and not just one in a hospital. no more wheelchairs as horror props. the worst thing that can happen is being told no. please help me advocate for more representation in video games.

it took me a very long time to be alright with the idea of using a wheelchair because everywhere i looked, wheelchairs were objects of shame. i stayed inside and went nowhere instead of even considering the usage of a wheelchair. i know many are like me. i play a lot of video games because of my health, and many other disabled and chronically ill people do also. we are always playing games. please help us see ourselves, and help encourage those who still feel shame. please help us show others that we exist. wheelchairs are tools of freedom, and they changed my life for the better. everyone deserves to see themselves in games, and it is about time wheelchair users got to.

The Surge, while frustrating to play, had the main character be wheelchair bound near the beginning before being given a full body prosthetic to move normally.

i want wheelchairs normalized, not messages that they should be gotten rid of

all i remember was seeing bently in sly cooper in a wheelchair in the third game AND FULLY PLAYABLE AND MOBILE WITH FUCKIN SICKASS ROCKETS AND SHIT and it made my aunts day bc she didnt ever think she’d get a character like her in a video game

AND ITS NOT THAT FUCKING HARD TO MAKE A CHARACTER IN A GAME IN A WHEELCHAIR

sly cooper is a STEALTH PLATFORMER GAME and if the turtle with a chair can be a master thief strategist other gaming companies need to get good and step up their game
