Tony Stark is kindhearted and selfless. He is noble and good. He is generous and eager to help others. His driving force is the need to protect others. He is a true hero.

First of all this was about the comics. Second, what kind of asshole comes onto a post that is nothing but positivity to insert their shitty negativity? Go away

Things that Tony Stark HAS done in the MCU and people don’t credit him for:

Being irresponsible to the point of creating weapons for the greater good. I.e. Believing the bullshit Howard spouted at him probably from a very young age about how weapons keep soldiers safe.
Put together a circuit board at 4. Created a promoter AI in his early teens. Lost his parental figures (don’t you ever forget Edwin Jarvis) at 17. Become the CEO of a multi billion dollar company at that age.
Survive open heart surgery in a cave in Afghanistan with no anesthetic and created something his father, a certified genius, was never able to achieve.
Vowing to Yinsen to become a better man than he was and actually protect the people that are worth protecting.
Growing as a person. Shutting down weapons manufacturing when he figured out that they were hurting others more than they were helping. Pushing his renewable/green energy projects to create something as cool as a self-sustaining tower (“it should run for about a year.”)
Survived palladium poisoning and recreated an element in his own personal lab
Taking a nuke, that the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT, sent to destroy New York into space and being completely mentally and emotionally wrecked because of it.
Create a program that he thought would keep the world safe from alien threat. Let’s not forget he’s the only one who saw the scope of the chitauri invasion. He’s the only one apart from the Asgardians who actually KNOWS what the threat is.
Monetarily sustained the Avengers. Gave them a home base, tech, armor and the Stark name to be protected under. (“Actually he (Cap) is the boss. I just pay for everything”)
Was manipulated and psychologically tortured by a witch with something that he fears more than anything else in the world. The family he’s made was presented to him dead and the blame for that was placed in his shoulders.
Was cornered by a grieving mother and blamed for the death of her son. Maybe he’s taken shit like that for the team before but nobody will know cause his grief isn’t important, right?
Has anyone thought what the conversation was like between Tony and Ross before they presented the accords to the team? Because I dunno 117 countries agreeing on that piece of legislature probably carried a lot of fucking weight.
Try to protect his team, the people he actually knows, from government interference/punishment.
Saw his best friend/brother get shot down from the sky and be paralyzed.
Hastened the technology that allowed said brother to walk away.
Deal with the emotional, psychological and political fall out of the accords AND the war.
Deal with PTSD and night terrors (IM3 anyone?) for YEARS while facing those same fears every single day.
Recognize the genius in Peter and understand his sense of agency while at the same time trying to keep him as safe as he possibly can.
Provide a mentor figure to a high school kid who is both like him (young misunderstood genius) and not (hero too young. Far too young)

Things Tony Stark has NOT done in the MCU and which he is accused of time and time again:

Selling weapons to the highest bidder. That was Obidiah Stane, if your Tony hating memory doesn’t let you remember.
Killing Wanda and Pietro’s family. Again, Obie’s warmongering at its best. The funniest thing to me about this bullshit is that people blame Tony for killing the Maximoffs and justify what Wanda did to him and yet get a stick up their ass when he does the same thing to James. Like, the hypocrisy of that is hilarious. Wanda and Pietro see a bomb with Stark written on it and are justified in killing Tony despite his lack of knowledge of it but he’s not allowed to want the same kind of revenge after SEEING HIS PARENTS BEING MURDERED RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. Like don’t get me wrong revenge isn’t the solution and is the whole reason they’re in the mess they are now, but come on.
Vanko: that’s Howard. That’s even fucking stated by Vanko himself that it’s about exacting revenge for what Howard Stark did to his father. And somehow Tony gets blamed for that? Fuck that. It also isn’t his fault that Hammer is a jealous piece of shit.

So don’t come at me with the Tony Stark hate. Go share it amongst other people who have time for that kinda shit.
