Tldr; i fall, ambulance gets called, customer gets offended that I fell and store policy is no locking doors except for robberies
Sunday (12/2) I got incredibly dizzy/lightheaded at work. I sat in front of my register (have a stool bc I already have other health problems) and it goes away. My coworker L is up front with me and she turns around to stock cigarettes. I stand up and the dizziness returns. I hold onto the counter and everything is fine, but as soon as I let go I fall, face forward, onto the floor behind the counter. Paramedics are called, but company policy states not to lock the doors unless it’s a robbery. Customer comes in, comes up with an armload of shit, looks at me using a manager for a backrest with paramedics tying a tourniquet on my arm, and has the fuck ass gall to say.
“You have employees fighting each other for 30 hours a week and then they’re dropping on the floor are you kidding?”
First of all who tf are you, none of us fight over hours we all get along pretty well there?? But he continues
“Couldnt you at least lock the door or something?”
So me, with the paramedic trying to insert an iv shunt, turn and look at him and say “Could you shut up?”
… and then blood comes out of the shunt because I messed up the position of it and it got all over my arm, pants, and the floor mat. Guy paid for his stuff and left. Hes lucky I got distracted by blood and had a manager there or I would’ve kept going. (I got to the hospital and was diagnosed with a severe uti and a migraine episode)
