Apparently some people don’t like have subtitles on while watching? This is a new revelation to me as a mostly solitary movie watcher but when I’ve gotten into groups someone’s complained about subtitles and it’s like, why you gotta be like that? They’re just words. You don’t need to read them but meanwhile: I do. I will miss so much of this movie if you take away my sweet precious subtitles.

OK so apparently some people have ADHD and that makes it really difficult for them so let’s acknowledge that’s a real issue. Though the times I’ve encountered opposition to subtitles it hasn’t been from people with ADHD so that’s what the post is about, but to those who do have it: fair enough. I have no beef with you and I hope you the best movie watching experience.

counterpoint: i need subtitles *because* i have adhd, unless you want me to pause and rewind the movie every 2 minutes bc i got distracted and didnt hear what the guy on screen said.
