When the Starblaster took off there was a single spider on the ship and Magnus is always on edge at the start of every year until someone kills it.
What if that’s on a checklist of yearly restart activities or like a big whiteboard in the middle of a room that just says:
HAS THE YEAR SPIDER BEEN KILLED YET?
YES NO
And nothing else and whoever kills it checks it off, Magnus looks at it every half an hour while it’s maybe still alive
Once Taako killed it and forgot to tell anyone or mark the whiteboard and Magnus didn’t calm down until they finally had a team meeting to discuss Operation: Get Magnus to Chill the Fuck Out and Finally Find the Damn Spider (at which Taako flippantly remarks “oh that? Yeah that thing’s ass is grass I killed it weeks ago homies” and everyone groans and Lucretia goes to check the whiteboard)
It’s the only time Magnus has been actually angry with Taako.
