Boogara: favourite ghost story/urban legend?
My favourite ghost story is one that happened to one of my family. I have a great second aunty who is the centre of the family and always has been ever since my grandmother died; if there was going to be a close & distant family get together, it was going to be at hers. A few years ago her husband, my great second uncle, died just 2 months before their Diamond Anniversary. My mum decided we should go an pay her a visit a few days after the anniversary day, and when we came to visit she showed us a card. It was a Diamond Anniversary card, written and signed by my great second uncle; he must have wrote it the day before he died, realising he wasn’t going to make it. It had a speaker in it that played a romantic song when opened, and on the day of their anniversary, my great second aunty found it when she open the door to the guest bedroom, and the card was placed against the door so it played music as the door opened. She had no idea of the card.
No one had been in her house but her, and she had walked into that room many times before without anything happening. She believes in ghosts and she firmly believes that her husband placed it there for her to find.
I can’t think of any logic explanation as to how else it got there, but I’m skeptical, but still, it’s a sweet thought that he was still there for their anniversary.
