it’s just like drawing, writing, and every other art medium out there. it just takes practice and time. i’ve had photoshop for like 4 years now, and i’m still learning new tricks and trying out the different tools it has to offer. and even if you don’t have photoshop, there still tons and tons of other editing media out there that is open to you!

when i first started out editing and giffing, i looked at tons and tons of tutorials and references. but over the while you start to find your own editing style and giffing style to the point where they become your own. instead of using other peoples psds, i create my own now. i’ve just become comfortable in my abilities of what i can and cannot do.

do i still get jealous over what other people can make? of course, it happens with everyone. but does that stop me? hell no. when you put the time and the effort into the things that make you happy and you love, then that’s what matters. even if its as simple as making a gif or a simple picture edit.

you can gif the same scene as someone else has (i mean, just look at the marvel fandom, people gif the same scenes all the time!) but they will never make it like you can, because you made it.

have faith in yourself and your creations. we all gotta start from somewhere. and if you need an extra set of eyes to look at it or need some advice on what to do next, there are tons and tons of people here willing to help. hell, you can always message me if you want my opinion on something! i’d love to help you out so you can create things that will even surpass your own expectations. 💖
