How do you do your lineart?? So that?? It looks kind of scribbly and messy??? But it’s so neat?? And all the color fits inside????

fangirltothefullest:

So I don’t really lineart for most of my artwork cause it takes forever and I just colour all my sketches.

My lineart is actually pretty nice when I do it properly:

But that takes SO LONG…. and I like the sketchy feel sowWhat you see for most of my stuff is literally just my messy sketches:

With colours directly under it and blurred around the edges like a motherhugger, then overlayed with the texture:

What makes them look so “neat” most of the time is that I literally use my messiness to make it look like movement or scruffiness…. I basically gave up on making it clean and I guess the disheveled look works…??

I also tend to sketch lightly and go over the lines heavier so I can erase the lighter lines enough to look somewhat cleaner like the one above.

You can actually see that the winged Roman picture is more recent than the Clue one because I Gave Up™ on caring if his hair was strictly one shape and it gets a lot fluffier when I give up on taming it. XD

But really my lineart is a goddamned mess of haphazzard stroked so I’m glad you all like it considering it’s literally just me scratching lines into the blank canvas until something sticks.
