I was thinking about something last night, and it’s that Thomas always describes Patton and Roman as his source of positivity, which is true however I think there is something that is overlooked a lot of the time. Logan is a big source of positivity. He constantly reminds Thomas how beautiful the world we live in is especially when compared to fictional worlds. The way Logan talks about the world and how wonderful it is, is always a big reminder for me when I forget that. My NEGATIVE Thinking he made Thomas aware of all the cognitive distortions that Virgil was causing which made him feel better about not only the audition but about a lot of things. Then of course we have this beautiful quote from Why Do We Get Out of Bed in The Morning?

What a beautiful thing to think about. I don’t know where I’m going with this but I just feel like we need to talk about this more because I haven’t ever seen it talked about.

may i just also add, like, logan’s little aside in moving on? the “of course they can: if you’ve previously experienced stretches of time in which you felt fulfillment and happiness, then the idea that you could experience something similar in the future is not inconceivable.” line? when he goes all soft and gentle? he’s such a great source of framing things so they’re not as bad, and keeping in mind that things will get better, and how lucky we all are.

I cannot believe I left out moving on in my post but that is such a great addition to what I was trying to say! Throughout Moving On Part 1 Logan’s frusteration came from Thomas and the others looking into the past and thinking that things were much better back then than they are now, and that things will never be good like that ever again. He is Logic and that is a very illogical thing that we all think every now and then.

Everyone paints Logan as cold and robotic, but that’s so far from the truth. He has shown that he has emotions. He’s not cold and he’s not a robot, he’s analytical.

He just doesn’t understand emotions like Patton and Roman do.

Yes! There’s a difference between not understanding emotions and being a “cold, careless robot” which is very far from what Logan is.
