no offense but when straight people tell me “i’m proud of my sexuality” i groan. of course you’re proud of your sexuality, you didn’t grow up being constantly told your sexuality was disgusting and shameful. you didn’t grow up thinking your sexuality didn’t exist. you didn’t grow up wondering if your family would still want you if you told them you had a crush on someone with the same gender as you. since you were a child people told you your sexuality was normal, and beautiful. you got to grow up seeing people with the same sexuality as you. you knew since day one your sexuality was normal. no fucking shit you’re proud of your sexuality.

I’m proud of a lot of things. How I get things done, what I do, skills I’ve worked hard to master and stuff that I genuinely suck at but have fun doing. Now when you beautiful LGBT folks are proud of this part of yourself that so many of my people have a problem with I’m proud of you. That takes courage, and so much strength. I’m inspired by you for standing up and saying to a world that has done so much to hurt you and saying “fuck that, I’m gonna love instead.” So with that in mind I’d like to thank you for being yourselves and I hope that you find happiness and stay safe out there.
