Okay I’ve seen tons of headcanons about Deceit’s scales and snakey-eye, but…all of them assume that it’s all real?
I want Deceit to literally be so much of a dramatic asshole that he’ll spend two hours every morning putting that makeup on, just because it’s his Look.
The eye is a contact lens. It’s impossible to see out of and he has no depth perception with it in so he has to work very hard to not bump into everything and ruin his image by slamming into a table and falling flat on his face.
All of the other sides know it isn’t real, of course. Thomas doesn’t. They have a silent agreement not to tell him because the last time Virgil pointed out the make-up and told him that he should use a different type of foundation, Deceit threw a hissy-fit and sulked for a month. He takes his reputation and image very seriously and he doesn’t like knowing that everyone knows it’s make-up.
(He does begrudgingly show Roman a few tricks for stage make-up, though, all the while insisting that the scales are real. “Of course they are, Sir Hiss, now would you just finish explaining the damn technique?”)
He’s a petty drama king and he lives for the aesthetic and you can’t convince me otherwise.
