DM: The birds aren’t very intelligent

The party is hiding in trees in a forest waiting for a necromancer to show up. Our ranger decides to ask the birds to help keep an eye out around the area.

DM: What do you tell the birds?

Ranger: If you see any suspicious looking person in the area, let me know.

DM: Okay. As you wait, many birds fly back to tell you reports of different ‘suspicious’ people they spotted wandering in the forest. From their description, they’re probably other adventurers.

Ranger: Damn it, no okay, birds. If you see anyone scary looking holding a stick i.e. staff, let me know.

DM: The birds return to inform you of the various hermits and mages they spotted in the vicinity. Every human looks scary to a bird.

Ranger: THAT WAS NOT WHAT I MEANT
