It just wears me down when I’m like “here’s a thing I made!” and the literal only responses are “why didn’t you do x” or “you messed up this detail” or even “cool but I had the same idea and here’s MY version!”

I don’t even mind that last one so much; it just kind of chips away my motivation to share things I make when there’s such a consistent pattern to the feedback. Like I just get hopeful when there’s a comment notification, but then it’s never just a “hey, nice” or whatever.

I know I shouldn’t make things for the comments, and I’m not; I’m making things I want to make, but the responses still just wear on me.

I’ve never been in a fandom centered on a subreddit other than this one, and I guess part of it is just the way the site functions, but idk.
